Due to an increase in volume, we are looking for motivated, reliable and committed individuals to work at our Stoke bakery to work a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off DAYS/NIGHTS.  
So who are we?

We're the people who make top 10 UK grocery brand Kingsmill as well as Burgen, Allinson and Sunblest. You'll know us through our wholesome white, wholemeal and seeded breads that offer delicious options to suit every family member - and our rolls, pancakes, crumpets, muffins, hot cross buns, wraps and other delicious bakery products.

Part of Associated British Foods, Allied Bakeries is around four thousand strong and one of the three largest bakery businesses in the UK. We own a top ten UK grocery brand in Kingsmill as well as a branded portfolio of other well-known household names including Allinson, Burgen and Sunblest, in addition to supplying customer brand products. We are now looking for (fixed term) Bakery Operatives to join the our team and to continue building on our success.

The Role:

We are recruiting Operatives on a permanent contract to work on our busy bread plant, working a pattern of 4 on 4 off [2 days, 2 nights] at our Stoke site.

You will ensure the efficient operation of the plant to produce high quality product and maintain high standards of cleaning, hygiene and housekeeping. Bakery operatives are accountable for recording process control information in accordance with Company procedures i.e. metal detection and weighing checks. We have a demanding customer base and our plant operators are expected to monitor product quality standards and either rectify or highlight any problems for quick resolution and to contribute as part of a team to ensure that we meet or wherever possible, exceed our targets.

We don't need you to be an expert in manufacturing; we can teach you that bit, but what we do need is your passion and enthusiasm. Training will be provided in the plant and equipment, but you will need to demonstrate your commitment to delivering the professional behaviours and performance to match the high standards that we expect in our bakery.

Safety is First at Allied Bakeries, so we're looking for someone to lead by example in ensuring that Health and Safety is our number one priority, and someone who is able to think and behave safely at all times.

Something to keep in mind is that our production lines work day and night 24/7, so you'll need to be flexible and be able to work our shift pattern; our shifts are all 12 hours in length.

Skills and Experience:
•    Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment is desirable
•    Ability to work to a high standard and ensure site quality and safety standards are met
•    Drive for Results with enthusiasm and determination to meet required standards
•    Desire to develop and progress own skills and experience
•    Able to work under pressure in a fast passed and complex environment
•    Willing to contribute new ideas with a focus on continuous improvement
•    Able to work as part of a shift team as well as alone using your own initiative
•    Training will be provided; Basic Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous.
