Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager or appointed deputy and act as a single point of referral for engineering related production plant needs and escalate if there is need to

 

  • To attend the daily OEE and performance meetings
  • Issuing Permits to work
  • Control of contractors
  • Submitting request for parts
  • Liaising with Senior Engineering Manager or appointed deputy with regards to work activity, including specifically planned preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Perform maintenance and outage planning and scheduling activities that include material requisitioning, manpower estimating, job standards, preventive and predictive maintenance, and equipment cost estimating
  • Responsible for creating daily/weekly maintenance plans
  • Ownership of yearly maintenance plans
  • To optimize available engineering resource to maintain and improve operational effectiveness
  • Effectively managing engineering stores
  • Maintain effective communication with other site functions
  • Responsible for reporting planning KPI's
  • Responsible for planning 3rd party service contracts
  • Assisting with RCA's relating to machine failure
  • Key system user responsible for asset structure, document control of new installs (CMMS)
  • Review of Planned Maintenance effectiveness in conjunction with the Senior Engineering Manager
  • Develop maintenance improvement techniques
  • Support reliability centered maintenance / Failure Mode, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA) relating to maintenance performance
  • Actively seek to deliver the most cost-effective maintenance planning solution
  • Review planned maintenance activities and identify opportunities to improve cost effectiveness
  • Support proactively all EH&S; procedures and policies

KPI’s

  • Planned maintenance program compliance
  • PM Schedule is maintained, achieved and kept up to date
  • Manufacturing line performance
  • Meantime to failure continuously improved
  • Manufacturing performance in line with or exceeding budget targets
  • Identification and closure of hazards/near miss incidents
  • To work within all necessary EH&S legislation (e.g. LOLER, PUWER, PAT testing, EOW, COSHH, PTW etc.) and to proactively contribute to raising the standards across Speedibake.
  • Additionally, be fully conversant with company safe systems of work, operating within agreed safe working practices in line with statutory and company requirements
  • To manage external contractors issuing work permits where appropriate and ensure contractor control is fully enforced.
  • To comply with good manufacturing practices and the Food Safety Act 1990.
  • To commit to improving on their basic skills, to achieve the flexibility required to support all best practice maintenance on site
  • Identification of CI opportunities, and the delivery of departmental & site process improvement initiatives
  • Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency and process improvements.
  • People responsibility for direct reports ensuring training requirements, skills development.
  • To take part in feedback to management regarding the feedback to grow program.
  • Proactively manage own time (and others), including prioritization of workload and making sound decisions based on the needs of the business.
  • Provide practical technical knowledge to site teams, including training, coaching, mentoring and guidance as required.
  • Work closely with the Senior Engineering Management team to drive the Asset Care Strategy and deliver a step change in preventative maintenance and plant reliability agenda.

Experience and Qualifications

Specify academic requirements or equivalency, required years and type(S) of experience and necessary professional licenses or certificates if relevant.  Specify which are essential and which are desired.  Include details of technical skills such as knowledge of a particular type of system

  • HNC/HND/Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering - desirable
  • 7-10 years post apprenticeship training – essential
  • 5-7 years’ experience in maintenance planning activities
  • FMCG experience an added advantage – essential
  • Previous supervisory experience an added advantage – desirable
  • Plant knowledge and customer service approach experience – essential
  • Flexible and adaptable to business demands – essential
  • Willingness to learn, mentor, coach other engineers and apprentices
