The role

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Occupational Health specialist to join our team for a 12 month maternity cover contract.


Key Responsibilities

Working out of our manufacturing site in Bradford, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the current in-house health surveillance programme, in line with good practice and ensuring that it is fit for purpose.

Sitting within the HR Department, you will work closely with the HSE team and Operational Management, leading the development and deployment of a coherent health and wellbeing strategy and programme to support our teams, both in and out of work.

You will provide confidence to the Leadership Team and Board that the occupational health programme is being managed adequately through the deployment of effective governance processes.

You will maintain the pro-active Occupational Health & Wellbeing service which prevents illness and promotes the health and wellbeing of colleagues whilst in our employment. This will support the Avoiding Harm and wider business strategies.


Skills & Experience – Essential

  • RGN status or higher, Occupational Health Degree or similar.

  • Previous Occupational Health ‘hands on’ experience of dealing with operational issues, through generalist advice and guidance to managers within manufacturing

  • Experience in working with operational managers and influencing their requirements.

  • Intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications to provide up to date and relevant management data.

  • Ability to work under pressure and be a team player

Skills & Experience - Desirable

  • Additional relevant qualification e.g. NEBOSH qualification,

  • Previous experience of working within a manufacturing food industry
