Allied Mills is part of Allied Milling & Baking division and is one of the UK’s largest and most successful flour millers, operating three mills in Tilbury, Manchester and Belfast. We have industry-leading milling capabilities and an outstanding track record for wheat buying, currently purchasing around 12% of the UK’s milling wheat crop. We supply quality flour to Allied Bakeries’ operations in the UK, as well as other ABF businesses and a chosen number of independent customers.
An opportunity has arisen for a QA Technician to work at our Manchester site. The purpose of the role is to support the flour quality testing and the running of the laboratory. This is a 6 month contract with the view to go permanent.
Key Responsibilities include:
•To operate to procedures as defined within site quality, environmental and health and safety systems and standards.
•Conduct wheat sampling of wheat intake.
•Ensure consistent quality of wheat and wheat feed through routine testing.
•Provide backup raw material and finished product testing.
•Ensure the consistent baking quality of finished product through routine testing
•Compliance with laboratory test methods
•Maintain upkeep of quality control records and systems of batch traceability
•Support management of the laboratory equipment calibration
•Maintenance of quality control equipment in a serviceable condition and the reporting / co-ordination of any defects.
•Responsible for the hygiene / cleaning of the laboratory and its equipment
•Liaison with suppliers, customers and Allied Technical Centre as required
