The Role

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Group Engineering Manager to lead our central Engineering team and ensure the delivery of best practice professional maintenance standards by driving a proactive maintenance culture.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, a key part of this role will be to lead and deliver the Asset Care Strategy and the longer-term engineering plan for the Wakefield and Bradford sites. You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of a new CMMS system in order to effectively schedule and plan preventative maintenance. 

You will lead and manage a central engineering and services team and co-ordinate all activities to support the effective running of the two sites and ensure that manufacturing consistently meets and exceeds operational performance targets. 

You will need to have an awareness and understanding of current engineering and legislative standards, possess excellent people management and communication skills and be an effective and collaborative leader with strong attention to detail.

To be successful, you will:

  • Educated to a degree standard in an engineering discipline with experience gained within an FMCG/Food & Drinks production environment.

  • Knowledge, and practical experience in electro-pneumatics, drives/gearboxes, pumps and seals.

  • Have experience of modern maintenance methodology and of Lean manufacturing techniques including TPM.

  • Asset and capex project management.

  • Experience of HV substations, switchgear and distribution systems.

  • Experience of explosive atmosphere equipment and DSEAR regulations.

  • Experience of food production & packaging lines – Dividers, provers, ovens, refrigeration systems, conveyor systems, palletisers and wrappers.

  • Have experience of implementing and embedding a CMMS system.
