Allied Technical Centre (ATC) delivers scientific and technical support to the Food industry. We're part of Allied Milling and Baking (the owner of major brands Kingsmill, Allinson and Burgen), which in turn is part of Associated British Foods plc, a FTSE 100 international business with a turnover of £13.4bn and 130,000 employees.

We are looking for a diligent and enthusiastic Innovation and Quality Technologist to join us for a year at our Office in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

•Working closely with the Innovation Support Coordinator, you will support the management of the site NPD trials programme. This will involve collating all information required to instruct the bakeries in recipes/process to be used during trials, and samples to be produced. You will collate and review results from the trials, liaising with stakeholders, bakeries and external laboratories.
•Also supporting the Digital and Quality Administrator you will compile QAS documents from information already obtained, or resulting from quality assessment sessions in which you will participate, and you will assist in the creation of representative digital images.

Key Duties will include:
•Collate details from various sources to instruct bakeries in their programme of NPD trials, (details will include recipes, allergens, testing regimes).
•Liaise directly with bakeries to solve queries regarding the site trials programme and with sub-contracted laboratories to chase/query test results.
•Monitor results and produce summary reports for stakeholders.
•Write QAS documents from information already obtained, or resulting from quality assessment session in which you will participate.
•Support the provision of draft and final photographic standards for all AB products.
•Measure quality attributes as appropriate on new and amended products, eg dimensions, weights.
•Other ad hoc administrative tasks including filing, data transfer etc

Required qualifications/skills

•Studying for a degree in Food Science or related subject
•A keen interest in food science and the food industry in general.
•Good understanding and competency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
•Competent in the manipulation of technical data.
•Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Good team worker who promotes the team culture but is able to work on own initiative when required.
•Good time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
