The Tray Wash Operative will work safely to ensure that all waste is cleared from Manufacturing on a daily basis and disposed (Inc Despatch) of in the correct manner. The individual will also assist in the loading & unloading of baskets from the AB fleet, including the inter bakery fleet, feeding of the basket wash conveyor belts, filling of major minors, seeing to the offloading of flour tankers and assisting with the weighing of ingredients. To ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues so that the “Safety First” vision and mission statements are achieved.

•To follow safety procedures as written by Allied Bakeries including risk assessments, safe systems of work, correct wearing of all PPE and other specific safety instructions relevant to the job being done.

•Awareness and understanding of health & safety requirements.
•Awareness of COSHH regulation and the safe use of chemicals.

•To report Hazards/Near misses and faults to assist in the prevention of accidents, hazard reporting will be set at a minimum of two each week per person.
•Generate ideas for improvements which could potentially save time and money.

•To ensure that the completion of tasks are delivered to the desired standard in conjunction with the work instructions.
•Follow instruction and guidance and training given at all times.

•Provide a high standard of work, assisting departments cross functionally.

Key Elements of the Job
•Be able to work with your colleagues in a safe conscious environment
•Working with the SOP’s & SSOW for all tasks undertaken
•Filling the tray wash feed conveyors and loading & unloading of baskets
•Ensuring that the area around the waste bread skips and feed station is kept clean and tidy.
•Ensuring the basket wash itself is cleaned to the acceptable standard on down days
•Effective utilization of the holding area, so the maximum amount of trays is held on it.
•The removal and disposal of waste product in a safe & hygienic manner
•Attending to major minors and flour deliveries
