A fantastic opportunity exists to undertake a formal, structured training programme over 3-4 years. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the multi-skilled engineering apprentice will train to become a qualified Engineer & Electrician, moving into the role of Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer on completion of the Apprenticeship Programme. The key role of an Engineer, both trainee and qualified, is to minimise downtime and maintain the equipment to the best possible standard.
·Carry out planned maintenance
·Attend breakdown repairs
·Complete refurbishment, installation, improvements or modifications to the plant or services
·Work safely and conscientiously
·Strive towards continuous improvement of all machinery and equipment
·To do all of this with the objective of effectively reducing engineering downtime, thereby maintaining plant availability, efficiency, productivity and product quality at all times.
At the end of the 4 years the apprentice must be fully competent in both mechanical and electrical aspects of engineering
Applicants will require the following experience/qualifications:
·PC literate, including excel spreadsheets, powerpoint, and word;
·Numerate and literate;
·Have good electrical and mechanical aptitude
·Be confident, positive and willing to learn
·GCSE Maths and English or equivalent minimum of 5 grades at C+, or equivalent
