Speedibake has bakery sites in Wakefield and Bradford specialising in own-label baked goods, we supply to a customer base across all channels; foodservice wholesalers, contract catering, end users, export and retail.

This is an ideal role for someone who has had previous experience in a development role within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the NPD Development Manager, the successful candidates will own the day to day responsibility for identifying, developing and delivering product opportunities from concept through to customer sign off.  They will have a real passion for food that can be demonstrated through their product development.

Key Accountabilities

  • Being customer facing the role will require a strong relationship with both existing and new prospect customers through regular communications covering project updates and broader discussion around future ideas

  • Be an expert in recipe in development have full understanding of our raw materials and functionality

  • Deliver a fully pro-active approach to development by having the ability to identify product opportunities using both current and new innovation as well as being able to work to specific customer briefs.

Skills & experience

  • Experience of development within the food industry. It would prove advantageous if you also have experience within a chilled environment (ideally bakery).

  • Confident, customer facing and creative

  • An understanding of current and future industry trends

  • Ability to demonstrate good time management and organisational skills

  • Real passion for food and flavour – ability to think outside the norm and challenge status quo

  • UK driving license
